Domaines Fabre Margaux & Haut Médoc

Rebels by nature, Médoc by culture

Free and independent, we have a long history of working to create authentic, quality wines that respect the ecosystems and meet the the pleasures of wine lovers.

Quality without speculation

Quality without speculation

For us, wine is not a speculative commodity. "What gives a wine its value is not its price, but the pleasure and emotion it evokes," says Vincent Fabre. We craft our wines with sincerity, prioritizing quality and fair pricing. A direct approach, true to our vision of wine: authentic, accessible, and unpretentious.

Free and non-trading

Free and non-trading

Since 1964, we have chosen to cultivate, vinify, age, and market our wines directly, without using intermediaries. This independence allows us to control our wines, our prices, and our relationships with our carefully selected partners. Traceability, transparency, and short supply chains are at the heart of our commitment.

Family culture

Family culture

For four generations, our family has shaped its history around the vine. A know-how passed down and enriched through the generations, guided by respect for life. Each generation adds its own touch, faithful to the family heritage. Today, we keep this heritage alive and pass it on to future generations.

The pursuit of pleasure

The pursuit of pleasure

Guides each of our creations. We cherish this freedom to create what we like, sometimes outside of stereotypes, while remaining true to a simple requirement: quality wines for all tastes. This quest drives us to innovate and explore new expressions of our terroir. Pleasure is not an end in itself, but a constant intention, at the heart of each of our wines.

REBELS BY NATURE

Our desire to innovate led us to create atypical wines, breaking with the conventions of classic Bordeaux wines. We then developed a range of single-varietal wines, with the aim of crafting light, supple, and unconventional wines. This gave rise to Fabre on the Rocks (100% Malbec), Wild Fabre (100% Cabernet Sauvignon, no added sulfites), Clan Fabre (100% Merlot), and Funambull (100% Merlot sparkling red wine), all recognizable by their colorful and quirky labels. In this same spirit, the range has expanded with our Carte Blanche white wines, made from resistant grape varieties, and Pic Vert, our latest addition, a 100% Merlot white wine, which continues our commitment to creating accessible, expressive, and decidedly different wines.

VIN BLANC & CÉPAGES HYBRIDES

During the 2024 harvest, we took on a new challenge by crafting our first white wine from resistant hybrid grape varieties. A new chapter for our estate and a wonderful adventure for our team. These grape varieties allow us to cultivate these plots organically. From this approach was born "Carte Blanche," now in its third year of organic conversion.

FABRE SHEEP: our allies at the heart of the vineyard

Since 2020, our flock of Landes sheep has been helping us with the natural maintenance of our vineyards. This eco-grazing approach is part of a larger project: to develop, within our estate, an eco-responsible, innovative, educational farm deeply rooted in its local area. Our ambition? To create a vibrant place open to all, where everyone can discover the unique link between viticulture and livestock farming, winemaker and citizen, and share our values throughout the Médoc… and beyond.
